Empty Bowls Event for Northumberland County
Northumberland Potters, along with local artisans, are to be commended on their generous donations supporting The Help Centre of Northumberland with the first “Empty Bowls Event" - an international, fund raising project reaching out to promote awareness of poverty within the community.
Ticket holders gathered at the Columbus Community Centre in Cobourg on March 11th for a dinner consisting of choices from an all you can eat soup buffet! Selecting one of many, beautifully handcrafted bowls to take home was a fun - but serious reminder - that a difference was made on behalf of all who attended. In addition, a live and silent auction took place, adding to the fundraiser.
